Leadership Newton Education Day
• This day usually includes a tour of at least on public school (sometimes one elementary, one middle, and one high school), the Newton County Board of Education, Oxford College (two-year School of Emory University), Dekalb Technical College, and overviews of other educational opportunities in the area. The public school system covers a lot of pertinent information regarding how tax dollars are spent as well as the penny sales tax that goes toward education.

This day is designed to expose the Leadership Class to areas within Newton County that are in need of Leadership and Support. Day may include trips to the Animal Shelter, Project Adventure, Humane Society, Washington Street Community Center, and many more.

This day is designed to expose the Leadership Class to the Health Care system and the many opportunities that our health care system provides to local residents.

The Leadership Class in conjunction with the Youth Leadership Class will journey to the capital to talk with State Representatives and Senators, along with view the Senate while they are in session.

Leadership Newton Economic Development Day
The class will journey to Atlanta to visit with Georgia EMC, Georgia Power - Local Resource Center to learn how industry and retail makes decisions upon locating in Newton County.

Leadership Newton Public Safety Day
The LNC Class is exposed to local law enforcement (City and County), Fire Department and 911 Center. This day is focused on educating the class about our local public safety departments.
