Behind the Scenes: The Covington Stunt Couple that is Taking Hollywood by Storm

For stunt men and women in Atlanta, broken bones and falling off buildings are all in a day’s work. But how would you feel if you could work with your husband every day and share the same career? For Covington residents and husband and wife stunt coordinators, David Martin and Jennifer Badger, this is an everyday thing.

The duo have made it a career to take other people’s falls and mishaps in a dizzying  amount of films and TV shows, including The Vampire Diaries. Jennifer was even Nina Dobrev’s stunt double! TVD fans may remember the scene where Damon and Elena jump off the clock tower together. Yep, that was Jennifer! An interesting note is that she actually jumped/fell off the Covington clock tower twice for different episodes.

Badger stated in an article from the Covington News, “Every high fall is different-different actions, different places.”

David’s work includes scenes in the Originals, Sleepy Hollow and The Walking Dead. Together, the couple work for production companies so frequently filming in and around Covington, they made the decision to move here. “When I started in Georgia in 1993,” Martin said, “There wasn’t much work down here. The fact that Georgia has progressed so much to rank number three in film production is due to the state’s hard work.” David even expressed that Georgia is catching up to California because they always thought they would be number one. Well, the Hollywood of the South is going to change that, for sure!

Of course the pair love living in our beautiful little town and have nothing but kind words to say about the locals. Badger told the Covington News, “We’ve seen nothing but graciousness from the people here…. We’ve been treated very respectfully by the locals and I appreciate that.”

Not only is the phenomenal stunt couple dominating the Atlanta area and the Hollywood of the South, but they also have been featured in other series and films such as, “Mockingjay, Part 1.”

We are a tiny bit partial, but the coolest part of this love story is that they live in Covington and will continue to be stunt coordinators here. We frequently hear from visitors that the Hollywood of the South (aka Covington Georgia) is the place where memories can be made. You can see all of the wonderful memories being made by residents and visitors alike by following us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
