Join us for our annual Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Covington Lions Club. We are looking forward to another great event!
Here is some of the key information:
- We will again have a $20 entry fee. However, this year we must pay for the closing of the roads and the square, and for the use of Legion Field. So we will only be able to contribute any proceeds after expenses to local charities. It is expensive for the city to host the parade and we must share those expenses.
- After you register online, we will send you a confirmation number and the complete information on where to send your entry fee.
- Start time is 10:00 am.
- Entrants CANNOT throw candy or favors from floats – this is a huge safety concern and will be strictly enforced. We do not want anyone dashing into the street to pick up candy.
- Horse entries must have bun bags / diapers OR provide a walker with clean up supplies for the entire parade route. This has been an issue for the city clean up crews so let’s help them out.
- The number of entries is again limited to 100.
- ONLINE registration only – NO paper applications available
- The cut-off deadline for entries is November 21, 2015 OR when we reach 100 entries, whichever comes first! Last year we hit our maximum number in the middle of October so apply early please.
- We will be using First-In First-Out lineup as we have done the last several years – when you arrive with your completed float we will place you in line.
- Only one Santa is allowed in the parade, and we will make arrangements for him to be there.
