“For Jack Crews, the rules of the road are simple. No passing, no tailgating, and no turning back!” Welcome back everyone for this week’s trip down Hollywood’s Memory Lane! This week The Covington Walk of Stars introduces to you the 29th stop on the tour dedicated to none other than ‘Black Dog’ directed by Kevin Hooks. Hooks also known for Walt Disney’s ‘The Color of Friendship’, and Prison Break did an excellent job in bringing to life the good-guy-gone-bad trying to be good and gets caught up in something dangerously bad scenario.
A box office hit in 1998, ‘Black Dog’ was filled with action, tension, violence and everything you’d love about a 90’s film! Main character/ex con Jack Crews (Patrick Swayze) is trying to be a good father and husband until he finds that the welfare of his family is in jeopardy. Jack then finds himself pulled into a “job” he didn’t want but couldn’t resist which also happens to be headed by Red, the head honcho of a major gang! Add some FBI action, some dangerous driving and there you have it—A major hit! We learn in the film: “The rules of the road are simple. Don’t turn back…” With so much riding on making it to Atlanta, would you turn back?
Jack, a mechanic in New Jersey, is loving life and then all of a sudden being chased by the FBI and the mob. His family is compromised and needing money, but most of all need to survive. Do you keep going? No matter which way Jack turns, it seems as though someone is waiting for him…What do you do? Would you do what Jack Crews did? Does Jack Crews make it to Atlanta? It seems, “The only way to stay alive is to keep moving.”
While you think on that, The Covington Georgia Walk of Stars invites you to relive all these wonderful Hollywood moments on location making the Walk of Stars truly a unique one-of-a-kind tour for the whole family!
