Covington’s Candlelight Christmas Tour

768px-Christmas_tree_at_nightCovington, GA is always full of things to do, but this holiday season we are having a special tour, Candlelight Christmas Tour, which is being held on Saturday December 7, 2013.  Satsuki Garden Club is hosting this tour and it will take you on a tour through six different homes.  Five of the six homes are located in Covington, but one is located a short distance outside of Covington, in Oxford GA.  To read more about this tour itself go to Things to do in Covington: Candlelight Christmas Tour.

The second home to be featured on the Candlelight Christmas Tour is the Bryans’ home, in Covington.  The home is true to its craftsman style, which was developed in the early 1900’s. The feature of this home that was traditional during this time period is the wrap around porch.  By adding the wrap around porch they added some character to what would’ve been just a boxy house.  Another feature this home has that is traditional for the time period in which it was built is open-space living areas.

The Bryans have been the proud owners of this piece of history since 2006, and they welcome you to visit their home to experience it for yourself.  They live in a community within a community, Clarks Grove, where everyone lives and works within the community. This small community features tree-lined sidewalks, Montessori school, restaurant, hair salon, a pool, softball field and a neighborhood garden. They ask that when you visit their home during this tour, to park across the street in the Church of the Good Shepherd parking lot.
