Covington’s Christmas Season

Covington’s Christmas Season is kicking off this week, be sure you come visit and join in all our reindeer games!

Starting it off is the Covington Magical Lights of Christmas, where over 70,000 lights in the Historic Covington Square will be lit, blanketing the area in the glow of Christmas lights.  The shops will be open, Ramsey’s Furniture will  have a Santa, and the Oxford Singing Children’s Choir and Covington Community Band will be providing music to add to the atmosphere.  Bundle up with loved ones and ride a horse drawn carriage through the town, it’s sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

The event is Thursday, November 21, and runs from 5pm to 8pm, with the lighting ceremony at 6pm. 

No holiday season would be complete without Santa, and sure enough, he and Mrs. Claus will be visiting Covington!  E very Thursday night from November 21st  through December 19th, they will be in Ramsey’s furniture building for pictures.  The Covington News is providing 100 free pictures each Thursday night! Stop by the Covington News office to pick up your ticket. 

Still looking for Christmas presents?  The shops of downtown Covington will be open late on Thursdays throughout Covington’s Christmas season.  Stop by from 5-8 pm to buy a unique gift from a local business.

Finally, there will be Covington’s Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Lion’s Club and Main Street Covington.  Get the festivities started by joining us December 7th, starting at 10:30am.  Businesses will be open early, and there will be special events going on all day.
