Exclusive: Celebrate Founder’s Day in Forever Mystic Falls!

founder's dayFounder’s Day is two days away and Covington is buzzing with excitement. The biggest shindig this side of Mystic Falls is going to be a party to wake the dead. We’re pulling out all the stops to honor our immortal friends and to celebrate the special place the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries hold in Covington history. Because this will be the final season of the show, everyone in Forever Mystic Falls is coming together to celebrate.

Founder’s Day begins on March 10th, at 12 pm. Why so early, you might ask? After all, vampires like to party after dark. Well, slip on your daylight rings, True Fanpires, because you won’t want to miss this. Your first stop should be The Welcome Center to pick up a punch card. This card will enter you into a special CVB raffle, for 3 amazing prizes. All you have to do is shop at 5 stores on the Square. From 12 pm to 5 pm, Damon’s actual 1969 Chevy Camaro Convertible from the hit series will be on the Square. You’ll get the chance to take pictures with the very car that Ian Somerhalder drove on the show! You can also take pictures on the actual float from the original Founder's Day from The Vampire Diaries! Then, head over to The Cork Boutique and Gifts from 2 pm to 7 pm, for a flight into fancy. That’s right! You can enjoy a Wine Flight featuring Vampire Wine for just $10. In fact, many of Covington’s local restaurants are getting in on the Founder’s Day festivities with drink and food specials that are vampire themed. Try the Irish Bred Pub vampire drink specials like the Blood Thirst, the Vampire Kiss Martini, or the Corpse Reviver, the signature cocktail of Worthington Manor, aka Lockwood Mansion. If you’re hungry, head to the Mystic Grill and sample some of the sinful dishes, like Damon’s Bourbon Burger or Bon Bon’s Brownie Magic.

founder's dayThen, at 5:00 pm, Founder’s Day officially commences. Mystic Falls will host THREE stars from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals; Micah Parker, Chris Brochu, and Chase Coleman. The stars will be signing autographs for fans between 5 pm and 7 pm. For those who are frightfully fashionable, you can enter for a chance to win the title of Miss Mystic Falls at Founder’s Day, starting at 7:15 pm! Wear your best Founder’s Day attire or your favorite Vampire Diaries ensemble and enter for a chance to win the crown and V.I.P seating for the finale screening. You can also take part in exclusive tours from The Vampire Stalkers. Check out your favorite filming sites and go behind-the-scenes of new locations! You can also check out our many events happening on the Square, like selfie stations, kissing booths, and more. Chris Brochu is set to take the main stage at 8:00 pm for a live acoustic show.

Then, as the sun sets in Mystic Falls, join us on the famous Covington Square and enjoy a LIVE screening of the finale, hosted by The Mystic Grill, Vampire Stalkers, and The Covington CVB. At 8:45 pm, view A Vampire Farewell: The Covington Connection CW Special and learn all about the filming of the show. Then, gather around at 9:15 pm for the season 8 finale of The Vampire Diaries. Did we mention that our viewing is commercial free? You won’t miss a second of the action, and you might get a special message from the stars of the show, too! The finale screening event is FREE to guests and open to all ages. You may want to get here early and find your perfect viewing spot. And, remember, it’s BYOS: Bring your own seating. Or, for the vampires amongst us, BYOC: Bring your own coffin! Stick around because Micah Parker and Chase Coleman will be performing with Mercy Mode at 10:00 pm.

founder's dayThe party doesn’t stop just because the sun comes up! You can also purchase tickets to attend a Hangout Party with Chris Brochu, Chase Coleman, and Micah Parker on March 11th at the Mystic Grill. You can get to know the cast members and enjoy specially prepared appetizers! The stars will also play an acoustic show, just for their fans. Tickets are $100 and very limited, so call this number to order your tickets now.

Needless to say, you do not want to miss this supernatural shindig. This free event is going to be the Founder’s Day to end all Founder’s Day celebrations, and you are cordially invited. Join us in the real Mystic Falls to say goodbye to The Vampire Diaries. Need a place to stay? We have you covered. Click this link to book your hotel room now.
