Explore The Johnston Family Farm!

Newborn Georgia, located in Newton County, is home to Johnston Family Farm. Johnston Family Farm is a family owned and operated dairy farm that has been open since 1956. The farm was started by J.H. Johnston and his 17 cows. Today, Johnston Family Farm is a much larger, more established operation that milks between 80 and 100 cows a day – producing around 60 pounds a day per cow!

The Johnston Family Farm is not only family owned and operated, it is family friendly as well! The farm offers birthday parties and farm tours that the whole family will enjoy. Birthday parties at the Johnston Family Farm are affordable and include a two-hour party that involves a tour of the barn, milking facilities, and feeding facilities, a hayride, a petting zoo, the chance to make ice cream and a reserved picnic area!

The farm has a variety of tours that can be customized for any group. The Johnston Family Farm offers school tours, family tours, 4-H tours, daycare tours, and several others. These tours give you the opportunity to see the farm’s cows up close up! You will also get a chance to meet their newest members of the herd; as you will be allowed to meet calves ranging from newborn to two months old.

Throwing great birthday parties and tours are not the only things that Johnston Family Farm does well. They produce some of the freshest, all-natural milk possible. You can find their products at several local grocers (see a full list here). They produce fresh whole milk, low-fat milk, skim milk, chocolate milk, buttermilk, real cream, and half-and-half. The Johnston Family Farm is a hidden gem in Newton County – be sure to pack up your family this weekend and discover the treasures it holds, whether you are looking for fresh milk or a full tour!
