Fall into Fun at the Newborn Fall Festival and Chili Cookoff

newborn fall festivalIt’s almost time for the Newborn Fall Festival! The town is gearing up to host some spectacular events in honor of everyone’s favorite season and to celebrate the reopening of the Historic Newborn Schoolhouse Museum.

The Fall Festival begins on November 13th, when the Newborn Garden Club will host a special preview of the Schoolhouse Museum. Built in 1924, this historic building has been transformed into a museum to celebrate the early days of Southern public school. From 7-9pm friends, family members, and guests will be able to experience what a Twenties-era schoolhouse was actually like and help raise funds for the continued preservation of Newborn’s town history by bidding in our silent auction. You’ll get the chance to bid on everything from weekend retreats, gorgeous antiques from the same era as our Schoolhouse, and even tickets to events held at the museum. Tickets for our preview are $10 with an advance reservation and $15 at the door. These tickets are good for 2 drinks, delicious treats and a first peak at the museum! RSVP by November 10 to ehscarborough@gmail.com or call 770-787-3508 and visit newbornschoolhouse.org/museum for more details.

The fun continues on November 14th, when our Fall Festival begins! This year, we’re hosting a chili cookoff! Cooks can try their hand at winning the coveted “Best Chili in Newborn” title and the honor of the Golden Spoon. And, the chili with the most fan votes will receive a cash prize equivalent to the amount of votes they get. To enter, visit newbornschoolhouse.org or call 404-353-0177. It's only $10 to enter! Our Fall Festival will also host local bands and some delicious food. Be sure to check out our craft tables for unique Christmas gifts, too. And, we’ll have pony rides and even a horse that can count!

We’re so excited for the Newborn Fall Festival! Be sure to mark your calendars and come and join us, November 13th and 14th. Fall, family, and fun await!
