Independence on the Square in Covington is Almost Here!

Independence on the Square is THIS Saturday!

The biggest event of the summer is this Saturday – that’s right, the Fourth of July! Independence on the Square is undoubtedly the most exciting event that will take place in Newton County all summer. The fun filled, family-friendly atmosphere attracts everyone who lives in Newton County. It is the most exciting way to celebrate our country’s independence as a community!
This year the Fourth of July festivities will begin at noon on Saturday, July 4th! There will be plenty of food available along with a great, safe atmosphere that your kids are encouraged to run around and play in; they’ll need to burn off the extra energy from the yummy sweets and barbeque favorites that will be surrounding the square all day. Independence on the Square is a great family event!
Not only will this event be fun for the kids, but for adults, too! Everyone will love this event. At 2 pm there will be a very exciting special Olympics equestrian team golf cart parade and will go all the way around the square. Following that there will be live music throughout the day featuring many different local artists.
When it finally gets dark, the biggest event of the day will take place – the fireworks! At 9:40 we will sing the National Anthem as a community and at 9:45, the huge fireworks extravaganza will kick off! This beautiful fireworks show and the fun activities all day will make for a great Saturday and a fantastic Fourth of July! You can check out all the details here.
