Leadership Newton County Program
Nurturing Tomorrow’s Leaders since 1986
The Newton Chamber of Commerce firmly believes that today’s leaders have an obligation to nurture tomorrow’s leaders. With this conviction, they established the Leadership Newton County Program in 1986.
Sponsoring organizations and class members play an important role in the program by providing financial support and real-world experience.
The Leadership Newton County Program offers an excellent opportunity for those who are interested in making a difference in their community.
The goals of the program are to recruit a group of the area’s finest emerging leaders, representing a broad spectrum of the community, and to provide them with the skills and knowledge necessary to assume leadership roles.
The program is designed to identify, educate and motivate potential leaders in our community. Class members represent a broad spectrum of the community, including business, industry, education, government, non-profit organizations and civic groups.
The Leadership Newton County Program provides participants with an opportunity to learn about the community in which they live and work, to develop their leadership skills and to network with other community leaders.
We extend an invitation for you to participate as a sponsoring organization or class member.
We believe you will find the experience both gratifying and beneficial.
The Leadership Newton County Program
The Leadership Newton County Program is based on the premise that well informed citizens make the best leaders. The program is designed to expose community leaders and potential leaders to the many different aspects of Newton County and its municipalities.
Class members have the opportunity to gain or improve upon existing leadership skills.
They will also learn where and how they can get involved to help improve the community. The program is designed to acquaint class members with information on the organizational structure and unique features of the community.
It is also designed to encourage their participation in community affairs. Throughout the year, class members will have opportunities to learn about the county government, local businesses, schools, and non-profit organizations.
They will also have opportunities to meet with community leaders and learn from their experience. The Leadership Newton County Program is an excellent way for citizens to become more involved in their community and make a positive impact.
