Movie Review: American Pie: Reunion

American PieAmerican Pie has been around for a while. With the latest installment from the franchise, American Reunion, we have a Newton County tie in.

The 2012 film starring Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, and Tara Reid, among others, was shot in Newton County, GA at Newton County High School for a majority of scenes, including prom, utilizing the football field, and more.

The film features most of the original cast coming back for their high school reunion, thirteen years after graduating high school. The crew had gone their separate ways and is for the most part, with many of them having had children, get married, or be on a definitive career path. This means they’re meeting up again after various life events for the first time.

They soon fall back into the old American Pie habits, with lots of jokes, sex, partying, and more shenanigans. The plot thickens and unfolds as one may suspect, but I’ll leave that up to you to see!

In terms of movie night, this is definitely an adult’s only movie. There is strong language, very sexual acts, and various other mature-audience worthy content that is not suitable for children. However, if you want a easy laugh and to support Newton County filming, I definitely say American Pie: Reunion is one to watch!
