Movie Star Monday: The Vampire Diaries Paver

There are many reasons why we are branded Hollywood of the Southâ, one of those reason is of our Walk of Stars. The Walk of Stars are pavers that go around the entire square and feature many of the productions that were filmed here. To highlight these pavers, we have declared every Monday as “Movie Star Monday”.

To kick off Movie Star Monday, we start with our favorites, The Vampire Diaries. Since the series aired in 2009, we have had thousands of fans and tourists visit our town see locations where the stars themselves stood. Some popular locations in Covington include Elena and Jeremy Gilbert’s house, The Lockwood Mansion where Tyler and the rest of the Lockwood family lived, and the Square Park. One of the most popular locations is the Mystic Grill, where you stop and grab a bite, just don’t expect Matt Donovan to be your waiter. Last but  certainly not least is the iconic clock tower. You might not be able to climb up and sit on top like Elena and Damon but you can still snap a great photo from the ground.

These are just a few of the locations they used for filming while in Covington, Ga but there are plenty more. We thank Warner Bros. for choosing Covington to call their home for Mystic Falls for the past 8 years. The Vampire Diaries will always be in our hearts and we will forever be Mystic Falls.

If you plan a trip to Covington and want to talk a guided tour to see popular locations from the show go to www.mysticfallstours.com. You will be able to reenact scenes and take photos that will last a lifetime. Plan your tip to #ForeverMysticFalls now. Also while you are here make sure to the iconic Walk of Stars and see the Vampire Diaries Paver in front of the Courthouse on the square.
