Music Monday: New Music Festival in Covington GA

Spring is in the air! Though winter may not be completely over yet, we’ve been enjoying some beautiful, warm, sunny days recently. This spring-like weather helps to shake off that winter hibernation, get outside, and get moving again. We particularly love spring because of the great festivals, markets, and outdoor events. This spring in particular, Covington has a new annual music festival kicking off in April, and we cannot wait to attend!

Listening to outdoor live music is a great way to pass the time and enjoy a beautiful day among friends and family. We thoroughly enjoyed the live concerts on the square this past summer, and we are excited to see the music industry continue to grow in our community.

Musical guests to appear at the festival include Taylor Marie & Carly Burruss, a local duet that is sure to entertain, as well asDiane Durrett to perform a set of soulful blues. And to headline the show, we are excited to welcome local band Drivin’ N’ Cryin’! Atlanta-based band Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ is a popular southern rock group, with 90’s billboard chart hits such as Fly Me Courageous, Straight to Hell, and Honeysuckle Blue.

PAC is the company behind the festival, having been in the concert production business for almost 30 years. “We wanted to bring a unique, fun, musical event for everyone. If this event goes as well as we hope, the goal would be to ultimately grow it to a multiple day music festival, or possibly a bi-annual event,” said Steve Smith of PAC. Their event team has been working arduously to get this event prepared for kickoff, and with enthusiasm about bringing the live music event to our town. “Covington really doesn't have many events like this, and we think it will be great for the community,” Smith added.

Not only is the festival an exciting event for our area, PAC is also supporting local business for the occasion. Attendees can choose to receive a keepsake picnic basket full of locally sourced offerings like wine from the Cork Boutique and Gifts as well as sandwiches and an optional salad from Bread and Butter Bakery. And those who purchase the souvenir basket can have it monogrammed after the show! Visitors also have an option to choose from a VIP table for groups of 10 or more, or general admission lawn seating. Visit the event website and Facebook page for more information or details on pricing. Make sure to secure your tickets today for the newest music festival in Covington, GA!
