Madison, Georgia is only a few short minutes away from our beloved Covington and the city is celebrating an exciting new addition. On April 30th, stop by and celebrate the grand opening of Farmview Market!
Farmview Market is an incredible new approach to how and where people get their groceries. But, it is so much more than your typical grocer! All the produce and meats (did we mention the on-site butcher shop?) come from local farmers and are certified to be organic. Even their bath products are from local artisans in Georgia. Some of these great products are even sourced from Newton County! You do not want to miss this.
The party starts with the kickoff of our farmers market at 8:00am. Then, we will be hosting some incredible guest speakers, like Gary Black, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner. We are also excited to welcome Richard Monson [President & CEO of Southwest Georgia Farm Credit], and Andy Ainslie [Chairman of Morgan County Board of Commissioners].
You can expect live performances from musical guests A Band of Brothers bluegrass quartet and Swamp Rabbit Railroad. We also can’t wait to witness some culinary magic from guest chefs Holly Chute [Executive Chef of Georgia Grown], Seth Freedman [Chef, Peach Dish], and David Larkworthy [Chef/Owner Five Seasons Brewing], as they whip up signature dishes using produce you can find at the Market. And, for the kids, there’s Farm Kids Corner, where children can participate in fun games and activities and also create a special craft to take home.
We’re also really excited to browse through the treats and products from Newton County! Our very own Bread and Butter Bakery will be demonstrating their baking prowess and Town Square Olive Oil will be preparing some amazing samples as well. Backyard Safari, Honey Creek Farms, and the Harrison Family Farm will also represent Newton County with their amazing, artisan goods supplied at Farmview Market. Still have a sweet tooth? Covington's favorite, Jessicakes, has you covered. Her tasty creations can also be found at the market.
So, what are you waiting for? Head down to Madison, Georgia for the grand opening celebration of the Farmview Market on April 30th! And if you're planning to enjoy the local attractions all weekend, make sure you stop in Newton County at the Hollywood of the South for your film fix, too!
