Places to Visit in Covington, Georgia- The Townhouse Cafe

The Townhouse Cafe HollywoodOne of my favorite parts about Covington, Georgia is that almost every store has its own story. One of the places with a heart-warming story is The Townhouse Café. This café is located just off the Covington Square and few steps away from The Center for Community Preservation.

Just looking at The Townhouse Café will make you want to walk inside. When I first saw the green building with the Coca-Cola signs surrounding it, I was dumbstruck. I thought it was one of the cutest buildings I had seen in Covington, Georgia. I knew after driving by that it was a place I would have to try for lunch.

When you do walk inside the store, delicious aromas will surround you. The Townhouse Café has amazing food that will make you feel as if you are enjoying your mother’s home cooking. You are able to order anything from hamburgers to fish. Basically whatever you feel like eating that day, you will be able to find. Plus their huge array of sides is mouthwatering. You can’t go wrong ordering lunch from them.

However, my favorite thing about The Townhouse Café is their backstory. I was told that the mother of the current owner opened the café so that her sons would always have a job available to him.

Apparently her plan worked because one of her sons still works there today!

Another fun thing to learn about The Townhouse Café is that it was used to film a scene for The Vampire Diaries! If you are a vampire stalker and want to see one of the places they filmed at, I suggest stopping in and trying Townhouse Café’s food. It was also used for filming in The Family that Preys. If you do the Walk of Stars tour, you will notice The Family that Preys star is in front of The Townhouse Café.

A reason why we love our small-town home is because of the great stories we hear. If you hear any heart-warming stories like this one about Covington, Georgia, tell them to us! Those stories are guaranteed to make our day.
