Porterdale Tour of Homes

porterdaleIf you are searching for things to do in Covington this holiday season, you should look into the Christmas in the Village Holiday Celebrations and Friends of Porterdale Tour of Homes, which is being held not too far away from Covington.  This event is only being held on December 5, 2012 from 4pm-8pm.  Tickets can be purchased ahead of time for $20, but the holiday celebration is completely free.

A complimentary shuttle will be running throughout the course of the tour, which makes it easier on you since the Porterdale Tour of Homes consists of eight historic homes, two lofts, and a church. To bring more Christmas spirit to this event, the Oxford Youth Singers’ Carolers will be featured as well, alongside the featured homes.

Comfortable shoes are encouraged, since there is going to be a good deal of walking involved. Christmas season is a time to get all dolled up, but as a courtesy to the homes and home owners, we ask that spiked heels not be worn, as to not damage the hardwood floors that will be found in some of the featured homes.

There are a few restrictions while on this tour which consist of: No smoking, eating, drinking or photography will be allowed in the homes, and no children under age 10 are permitted.  If you are interested in joining in on spreading Christmas spirit through the Porterdale Tour of Homes, you can purchases tickets at any of the following locations: Arts Association of Newton County, Covington Regional Ballet, Burnies BBQ, and Porterdale City Hall, or at (770)786-2217. Happy Holidays!
