Rekindle Your Love In Covington – Newton County

The Romantic Getaway

With Valentine’s Day falling on a Friday this year, it is easy to celebrate your romance all weekend long! This is more than a date night. Think of spending private time together without interruptions when you stay at one of our award-winning local inns or hotels. Take a trip down lovers’ lane at The Twelve Oaks, one of our top picks for luxury. Seriously, what could be more idyllic than enjoying a blissful stay at a bed and breakfast that was once the inspiration for Ashley’s home in Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With the Wind?

Gifts of Pampering

A wonderful surprise is to pamper your sweetheart with gift-giving that makes the body feel invigorated and rejuvenated! You can get a gift card or arrange for a massage, Reiki healing, reflexology, beautifying skin services or a full spa treatment. Get pampered together at Beauty Bar Med Spa in Downtown Covington. They are offering a True Indulgence Spa Day on February 14, 15 and 16 with His and Her massage and facials, wine or champagne, and an oxygen lounge session.

Valentine’s Wedding Extravaganza

If you are thinking of celebrating your day of romance with the ultimate commitment of marriage, the Newton County Probate Court and Magistrate Court is providing weddings free of charge on Valentine’s Day. Three judges will be performing weddings from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are approximately 50 slots available, so if you wish to exchange vows on the most romantic day of the year, contact the Probate Court at 770-784-2045 to reserve a time slot.

Covington Chocolate Stroll

If you are looking for a fun event to bring the entire family, join the merchants of Downtown Covington as they host the Covington Chocolate Stroll on the Square on Friday, February 14 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, February 15 from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Merchants will be celebrating the weekend of love with fun events, offers, treats, and surprises to help your family celebrate!

Fun Creations

Here’s a twist for a fun time candle making at SkinWorks Day Spa. Join them as they host a Valentine’s Day Romantic Candle Making Sip and Pour with jazz, wine, chocolates, and hors d'oeuvre. This event can be done as a couple or with friends.

Dinner and Entertainment

There is something romantic about having a date night with a traditional Valentine’s Day dinner out. Whether you go to your favorite restaurant or try a new place, many of our local restaurants will offer special features for the occasion. Add in some late-night entertainment. On Valentine’s Day the Porterdale Bar & Grill will have live entertainment from Hot Rod Walt and Riley Williams Acoustic from 9:30pm to 1:30am.

Of course, you don’t have to wait for dinner. Grab your sweetheart and head out to lunch. Another great way to surprise your loved one is with a special pastry, cake pops, cupcake or other treats from one of our local bakeries!

Gift Giving

Luxury and Valentine’s Day seem to go together! A beautiful way to show your love is with gift-giving. Many of our specialty shops in Downtown Covington or Downtown Social Circle can help you select the perfect piece of jewelry, an arrangement of flowers, or another luxurious gift. When looking for that special something, visit local shops in the area that sell products that relate to the interests and hobbies of your loved one. For example, if your loved one loves to cook, head to Town Square Olive Oil. For the golfing enthusiast, consider the gift of golf or a golf clinic class from The Oaks Golf Course
