Shop for Local Stocking Stuffers in Covington

downtown covingtonChristmas is only a few days away and if you are visiting the area for the holiday, you may need a little help for those last minute gifts. Here are a few places you may want to put on your errand list that are great local stocking stuffers that are sure to help fulfill a few of those Christmas wishes!

Patrick’s Feed and Seed
Bring back Christmas memories from times gone by with candy by the pound in all those flavors you remember as a kid. Luscious licorice, terrific taffies or comforting caramels, you are sure to find more than one thing you just can’t resist putting in those stockings.

The Cork Boutique and Gifts
What do you get that special someone who is a wine, beer or cigar officianado who is difficult to buy for? The super helpful and creative staff at The Cork are ready to help. Stop in and inquire about their selection of Rabbit wine tools, outdoor picnic items, acrylic wine holders, cigars from around the world or Wine Club membership, just to name a few fabulous finds.

Town Square Olive Oil
This new addition to Covington Square has just the thing for those aspiring cooks or foodies in your family. Why not stuff their stockings with an infused olive oil or balsamic vinegar? Some of our favorite flavor combinations are Maple and Blood Orange or Ginger and Mandarin Orange.  They also have pastas, pestos and salts that tantalize the taste buds. Ask to sample the Smoked Bacon and Onion Sea Salt on a cherry tomato…oooo la la!

Square Bikes
Is biking or skateboarding your loved one’s preferred mode of transportation or method of keeping fit? Square Bikes can help with both equipment and outfitting. They stock all manner of socks, hats, helmets, gloves and nutritional products for that two or four wheeled athlete in your life.

Wild Art, LLC
From painting class gift certificates to hand made artisan jewelry, Ann Wildmon from Wild Art can help you find that one special gift sure to be the crowning jewel in someone’s stocking. We were excited to find such a diverse selection of hand crafted pens, clothing, blown glass and other “pretties” on display. Just to walk the store is a treat for the eyes.

Shelvie Jean
Add a little sparkle to the stocking with sequined leggings or glittering jewelry from Shelvie Jean. Not sure what size to buy? A gift certificate ALWAYS fits!

The Oaks Golf Course or Ashton Hills
For that golfer in the family who lives to be out on the course,  check in with the pro shop at The Oaks Golf Course or Ashton Hills. Golf balls, hats, tees and gift cards nearly always fit in the stocking and are appreciated. Especially for those who tend to lose their golf balls in the woods or water, lol.

Rustic Flair on Floyd
If your special someone enjoys the Shabby Chic look, creatively inspired jewelry or distinctive furnishings, you can’t go wrong popping in to this little shop off the square. Some of the most interesting pieces we found were necklaces made from old coins, but there are plenty of treasures to peruse.  All items are handmade or locally sourced, so you can be certain your dollar will stay in the community. Best yet- you might even save on your purchase with one of their DEALS OF THE DAY. Take that Uncle Scrooge!
