Small Business of the Year
Throughout the year the Covington/ Newton County Chamber of Commerce gives a “Small Business of the Month” award. At the end of the year one of the winners will then be selected to receive the “Dick James Small Business of the Year” award, to be given at the Chamber’s annual meeting and awards dinner.
This prestigious award, named for the late Dick James, long-time president of the Covington/ Newton County Chamber of Commerce, is all the more special because it is peer nominated.
The Dick James Small Business of the Year award was created to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding efforts of the small businesses located in Newton County. With small business making up over 80% of all business in Newton County, what better way to acknowledge their efforts than awarding someone with this prestigious honor?
The Chamber is asking for you to give careful consideration of a small business in Newton County that you feel is deserving of being honored as the “Small Business of the Month” which then will have them considered for the “Dick James Small Business of the Year.” The following criteria will help you in your nomination:
- Member in good standing of the Covington/ Newton County Chamber of Commerce.
- Two or more years in business as a for-profit company operating in Newton County.
- Fewer than 100 employees.
