Tee Off for National Golf Day

golf courseIf you’ve been looking for an excuse to go play “a round”, then head to Covington, Georgia! Today, October 4th, is National Golf Day. Now, some people think that golf is incredibly boring. But, have you ever driven a golf cart? You can’t be bored in one of those machines! Whether you hate it or love it, golf has been one of America’s favorite sports since 1794, when the Savannah Golf Club was established in Savannah, Georgia. Keep that Georgia tradition alive by getting out and enjoying some local golf courses. Did you know that Covington is home to two incredible golf courses?

golf courseYou should head out to The Oaks in Covington, Georgia. The Oaks is considered the best hidden golfing gem in the state. It’s conveniently located off of I-20 and includes all the amenities of larger courses. You can lunch at the delicious Putter’s Restaurant, located inside the club house and then visit the immaculately stocked Pro Shop. Most of the tee-time rates also include your cart rental, too. Did you know that The Oaks was originally designed by Bobby Jones? The Georgia golfing legend actually designed the course around the same time he was designing the Augusta National!  You can truly play like a Master’s champion at The Oaks.

golf courseAnother great Covington course is the Ashton Hills Golf Club. Ashton Hills Golf Club is one of the elite courses in the state of Georgia. Located in Covington, Georgia, it is the only course in the East Atlanta area that was designed by Desmond Muirhead, the world-famous golf course architect. The Ashton Hills golf course is challenging to all levels of golfer and showcases some incredible scenic views! Ashton Hills opened in 1997, and was instantly voted Atlanta's Best New Course by the Georgia Golf News. Not only does Ashton Hills also offers superb amenities also including a large practice range and putting green as well as great food.  After playing your round, try a fabulous meal at the Village Grille.

golf courseThink fast! Because we found a third option to satiate your golfing fever. If you can’t make it to Covington’s excellent courses, why not have a green of your own? Great Estates Landscaping, a local landscaping company that’s responsible for the cultivation of the Covington Square, can also install private putting greens in your backyard. The Great Estates Landscaping crew will create the perfect putting green and fit it into your already existing space. You can celebrate golf and National Golf Day, all year long!

Grab your caddies and clubs and tee off at one of Covington’s award winning golf courses, Ashton Hills or The Oaks Golf Course for National Golf Day!
