The Grinch and Santa Meet in Covington Georgia for Christmas

grinch in covingtonHave you heard? Something very exciting happened in Covington, Georgia for Christmas last Friday! That’s right, the Grinch came to Georgia for Christmas and we caught it all on video! The Grinch arrived in style and made a point to say hello to all who came to the Square on Friday night. The Square was decorated as Whoville and those who came were wearing their best whoville outfits.

The Grinch roamed around downtown Covington wishing all a merry Christmas – at least he did until he ran into the Christmas village on the Square. It was at the Christmas village that the Grinch and Santa Claus had quite the meeting. The Grinch recognized that he was “on Santa’s turf.” Santa Claus decided they must fight for the turf – and that is when the light sabers appeared.

The Grinch and Santa Claus stood in the middle of the crowd as they began to fight each other with their light sabers. Ms. Claus was an anxious onlooker, along with the rest of the crowd. After a minute or two, the Grinch is taken by surprise when Santa Claus strikes him with the light saber. The Grinch exclaimed “Oh he got me!” The crowd was shocked, but pleased to see that the strike delivered by Santa Claus was not a fatal blow to the Grinch. In fact the Grinch was still standing when Santa Claus decided to share a secret with him and all of Covington.

“Grinch I am your father” shouted Santa Claus. Initially the crowd and the Grinch were stunned! With a second of silence, the Grinch exclaimed “Daddy!” and the crowd roared. This exciting exchange happened in Covington last Friday evening and it was quite the sight to see – good thing we got it all on video! Check out our video below, it’s a short 2-minute video that will make your day. Also be sure to mark your calendars for this upcoming Friday, December 12th when Frosty the Snowman visits Covington between 6 pm and 9 pm, you never know what you might see![videojs]
