The Originals to Continue where The Vampire Diaries Ended

Since the tragic end of The Vampire Diaries, we’ve been nailing it in the coffin that Covington/Newton County is #ForeverMysticFalls. But did you know that the spinoff CW series, The Originals, is still alive and well in our film-friendly area?

This show is currently in the midst of its fourth season, and we are so excited to have them film in local Porterdale, GA for various episodes. If you were a die hard fan of The Vampire Diaries, you’ll be able to see the return of some of your favorite characters in this series, such as Hayley Marshall-Kenner, and the notorious Mikaelsons—Klaus, Rebekah, Elijah, and Marcel, all introduced first in The Vampire Diaries series. And the fun doesn’t end there, because The Originals was just renewed for a fifth season last month.

Locations in Porterdale that have been featured on The Originals include the Porterdale Memorial Gymnasium, and various brick buildings on the strip on Main Street.

It’s amazing to see how the production crew can turn a small, historic mill town into the French Quarter of N’awlins. Once you step foot in quaint, Porterdale, Georgia, you’ll feel like an Original who helped to build the French Quarter, yourself. The only thing missing is a great place to get Beignets!

If you were to attend a Season 5 Premiere party for The Originals, what would you like to see or do? We would love to show the Season 5 kickoff in our very own “Porterdale Parrish.” We could relive some of our favorite memories of The Vampire Diaries in Mystic Falls during the day, and end the evening viewing the premiere of The Originals in the “New Parrish” of Porterdale, GA. Give us your vision for what the perfect Premiere event might be for the new season! Post your answers to our Facebook Page, we’d love to get your input.
