We’re still in mourning over the recent news that Season 8 of The Vampire Diaries will be the last. To keep our spirits up, we’ve been hitting our comfort foods pretty hard. In fact, you could say that we’ve had an insatiable thirst…for steak! We decided to get “steaked” for Season 8, and the only place that made sense was the Covington Square. We found so many incredible food options to ease our pain, but the steak just kept calling our names. We found the list, but now, it’s your turn to “hunt” them down.
For a lighter option, or if you’re out hunting during your lunch break, head over to the Irish Bred Pub for their Bally Castle Steak Salad. Did you know that Bally Castle, Ireland is the Pub’s sister city? Related or not, we’re willing to bet that they’ve never had a steak salad this delicious. Dine on Certified Angus steak set atop fresh greens. Don’t forget about the Bleu cheese crumbles!
Then, you should head to Your Pie. We all know that pizza is the best cure for a broken heart and Your Pie created a spectacular pie that they’ve christened “The Pitmaster”. The pizza pie is topped with pulled pork, balsamic roasted onions, homemade slaw, and a BBQ and Ranch drizzle. Sure, it isn’t steak, but roasted pig is staked over a fire. And, trust us, you’ll be enjoying the flavors of fresh pork too much to miss the beef. You only have until October 26th, though, before the fire goes out on this pie. If you still need red meat, Amici’s also has you covered. Did you know you could create custom pizzas at Amici’s? Get creative with different toppings, including our bovine beauty, steak! The options are absolutely endless, because Amici's has over 40 ingredients that you can place upon your pie. Might we recommend re-creating a King's Pie? It's a pizza topped with steak, onions, and green peppers. If that doesn't cure your The Vampire Diaries induced heartache, we don't know what will!
If you’ve set your sights on something a bit more nocturnal, then head over to the vampires’ favorite hangout, the Mystic Grill. They have 3 incredible steak options and each one is delicious. But, our favorite has to be the 8 oz. Flat Iron steak. It’s served with Pimento Cheese grits and a sherry tomato butter that’s to die for! You should also sample the Tenderloin Filet at RL’s Off the Square. It’s a true taste of the Bayou, right here in Covington, Georgia. RL's steaks are always 100% Angus beef and buttery tender. Plus, you'll feel like an extra on The Originals!
So, you see, there’s no reason to be mournful! There are many ways to alleviate your Vampire Diaries heartbreak. All you have to do is venture to the Covington Square and get “steaked”.
