Things To Do In Covington: Art Classes & Workshops


NCVB artLooking for creative things to do in Covington or a way to learn new skills?  Covington has several art classes and workshops for residents to join and release their artistic side.

The Southern Heartland Gallery and Guild hosts a Community Paint Party every Tuesday evening.  This party is free and open to the public, and is hosted by a local artist mentor.  Just bring your art supplies and a project to work on, and prepare for a night of fun and creativity.  These paint parties are a great way for budding artists to get experience and instruction in a non-threatening environment.  For more information on the art classes, call (770) 788-8799 or email at contact@southernheartlandart.com

Every Saturday, the visual art center hosts workshops that are either a half day or full day.  Each workshop is unique and different, so check the calendar and the artist descriptions to find a workshop for you!

Ongoing classes are held weekly, Monday through Saturday.  There are classes available in drawing, charcoal, colored pencil, pastel, oil, acrylic and watercolor.  Occasionally there are also classes about clay and mosaics, so check the calendar to find a class that fits your interests.

Fridays and Saturdays are the Just Paint On the Square classes, where professional artists will take you step by step through the creation of your very own masterpiece.  All the supplies are provided; just bring yourself and your friends and family.
