Things to do in Covington, Georgia- 31st Annual Fuzz Run


Covington, Georgia's Fuzz RunAre you an avid runner? Or do you just like to run for a good cause? Whatever your reason for running is, you should join us for the 31st annual Fuzz Run! The Covington, Georgia Police Department sponsors this annual run and all proceeds go to the Police Who Care Fund. This years Fuzz Run will be held on Saturday September 13th, we can’t wait to see all the runners out there!

Want to know what makes this run special? Its kid friendly! Before the annual Fuzz Run 5K, the Covington, Georgia Police Department holds the 1 mile Fun Run for children. It is $20 to sign children up for the Fun Run. The top three boys and the top three girls will receive awards for the Fun Run.

Don’t fret; the Fuzz Run gives away awards too! Every man and woman who takes 1st place in their age group will come home with a $100 cash prize. They have to be out of school and cash prize-winning age groups for the fuzz run start with the 20-24 age group. Just like the Fun Run it is only $20 to sign up if you sign up within the next 16 days.

If you come down to Covington, Georgia and spend the night before the race, you can visit the pre-race expo! On Friday September 12th, you can pick up your packet early. The expo will be at the Conyers Street Gym from 8:00AM- 6:00PM. There will be vendors at the expo who will have displays and merchandise. Also if you come early you can spend a day exploring our Hollywood of the South!

The Fuzz Run is an important part of our Covington, Georgia history. If you are looking for a run that shows you a historic town and donates to a good cause, you should join our Fuzz Run. We know we will be there to support the Covington Police Department.
