art galleriesSouthern Heartland Arts was established in Covington in 1988 by a small group of local artists interested in the visual arts. The gallery space is now a plethora of gorgeous artwork. You can browse fine art, commission a portrait from your favorite painter, and oogle the amazing collection of handmade pottery, jewelry and photography! Southern Heartland Art is also your top choice for gorgeous, custom framing. Once you’ve looked over the merchandise, you should also consider joining the Southern Heartland Art Guild. The Guild is open to anyone with an interest in the visual arts and meetings are held four times a year. Plus, as a Guild member, you can receive special discounts and information about upcoming classes, speakers, workshops, and demonstrations. All of Southern Heartland Art’s classes are open to the general public, but Guild members will also receive a special invitation to the gallery’s annual fund raiser, which is usually a swinging bash!

art galleriesWildArt Gallery is Covington’s new kid on the block. Even though the space has only been around for a few years, the impressive inventory features a wide variety of paintings and artistic media in many styles. WildArt already has the reputation of showcasing some of the best local and established artists, including figurative and abstract paintings, landscapes, still life, hand-spun writing instruments, original and unique jewelry and more. The back of the gallery space is dedicated to art classes and special events designed to involve the community. Be sure to check out the “Just Paint” studio on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We’ve been to a few and can say that these classes are very popular with adults and children alike. But, WildArt isn’t just about paintings and jewelry. It’s the home of the Historical Ghost Tour in fabulous Covington. Take a spooky walk through town every Friday and Saturday night!

Each of Covington’s galleries provide a wealth of beautiful artwork and creative workshops where you can express your creativity. Visit each one today!
