Which Supernatural Power Would you Harness if you Could?

Vampires, Witches, and Werewolves, Oh My!

Supernatural folklore is a huge trend in pop culture and entertainment right now, with a multitude of TV series and movies about zombies, ghosts, vampires, witches, and werewolves. It seems that the masses have a growing love affair with supernatural stories that began many years ago with popular paranormal novels and films throughout the decades. It’s only natural as humans to spark an interest in the lore of other-worldly beings and activity.

Covington & Newton County, Georgia is a place all-too familiar with strange, supernatural happenings. Not only are we one of few places with preserved historic homes that have reports of ghosts and apparitions, but the area also draws supernatural TV and film productions to the area as well! Newton County has hosted productions like The Walking Dead, Sleepy Hollow, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Friday the 13th VI: Jason Lives, Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, Carl, ABC’s Resurrection, and the upcoming Amazon Video series, Lore, to be released on October 13th.

Newton County isn’t the only local spot getting supernatural attention, either. In addition to filming areas within our immediate vicinity, the bike trails at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers were shot for Netflix’s Stranger Things and historic Olde Town Conyers was transformed into New Orleans for The Originals. Our neighbors in Madison, Georgia also welcomed The Originals for various episodes and the recent Goosebumps movie, starring Jack Black.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from watching the many supernatural sagas filmed in our community, it’s that having a supernatural power comes as both a blessing and a curse. But each mythical, mystical power holds its own list of benefits. For those of you who are fans of mystical creatures, we wanted to ask which supernatural power you would most enjoy if you were given the opportunity?

Check out the many paranormal creatures featured in local productions, and connect with us on social media to tell us which supernatural power YOU would harness!
